Misinformation In The Expat World Costs Money And Nerves
Such an important topic to talk about!
We see misinformation that is spreading every day. And we don’t think those people who are spreading the “falls news” are doing it on purpose but rather want to help others.
The only issue is, that in a Latin American country such as Colombia, you can’t count on one single opinion or experience. We noticed, that even though we found out how things work, we still had other people telling the oppositeof how it was for us.
Why’s that? The problem is, depending on the person, the time, his / her mood and more different factors, the whole process of what ever you are doing can be dramatically different!
That’s exactly why you get 100 answers to one single question. Not because they want to misinform but because they all actually experienced the very same thing differently.
What should you do in such cases? Never ever trust just one single person’s opinion. Always ask different people. And if you lack knowledge, language skills or what ever it might be, ask a professional for help.
And keep in mind, the Colombian way to do things, is having a network. Always ask good people you meet on your journey for the number and name, in order to collect the trustworthy people along the way.
